Know your history?

My Granddad whom I never met homesteaded north of Douglas Wyoming on Lightening Creek. My father was born in a cabin west of town before the family moved to Lightening Creek and had quite a collection of Indian artifacts from the homestead. I was born in town in 1954 and was raised in town. Now days I am a history buff with an interest in Wyoming history. I now read as much as I can find on the history of that area. With this post I am trying to find out from you all more on an individual named "Labonta". As far as I know he was a trapper who built a trading post on the Platte at the confluence of the creek that bears his name today. Parkman talks about the trading post in his book Oregon Trail, and I found his name as a trapper with an early brigade of trappers in another book (sorry can't remember). Lets talk history.
